之前就聽說Queen皇后樂團前主唱Freddie Mercury的個人物品將透過蘇富比拍賣會進行拍賣。
昨天在the BBC新聞聽到，真心覺得這位歌手真的是生前賺很多，死後還是持續賺錢啊! (重點歪了)
而且我也是從新聞才知道，那首知名的《波希米亞狂想曲》(Bohemian Rhapsody)，
原來差點被稱為《蒙古狂想曲》(Mongolian Rhapsody)，
不過後來Freddie Mercury把Mongolian字眼劃掉了。
我只能說，Freddie Mercury要是當時真的用Mongolian這單字，那真的太前衛了。
畢竟在當時的英國，應該不可能像現在那麼熱愛擁抱亞洲文化(其實是k-pop)，
Freddie Mercury若是用Mongolian Rhapsody，這首歌還能大賣嗎?
坦白說，我其實對Queen皇后樂團並沒特別關注，拜我朋友所賜，
我才終於略知Queen皇后樂團。
之前朋友提到電影《波希米亞狂想曲》(Bohemian Rhapsody)，
還特別找出飾演Freddie Mercury的電影男主角Rami Malek跟Freddie Mercury本尊的動作比較，
只能說Rami Malek模仿地唯妙唯肖啊!

果然，飾演Freddie Mercury的電影男主角Rami Malek還因此榮獲奧斯卡最佳男主角殊榮。
也因為我朋友提到電影《波希米亞狂想曲》(Bohemian Rhapsody)，
我才終於知道原來那首那麼有名的We Will Rock You就是出自Queen皇后樂團之手，我之前還真是孤陋寡聞。
而且後來我也才知道，Queen皇后樂團裡面那位吉他手Brian May，竟然還擁有天體物理學博士!?
雖然說，我也知道在英國，不論你念什麼科系，根本不會因此有人拿來規範你未來就只能從事怎樣的工作，
但是天體物理學博士跟樂團掛勾，我還是覺得很難聯想。
只能說，英國很早就有人做斜槓了，哈哈。

他覺得 Freddie Mercury的家門規森嚴，宛如監獄XD
他是這麼描述:
"I walked through some interesting streets in Kensington where
very wealthy people must live. I found his street, but as you may have
seen in photos, all you can really see is a wall with a couple of
doors in it. The wall had razor wire on top, CCTV, and notices warning
people not to write graffiti. It looked a bit like a prison really.
Someone had left some flowers by one of the gates. I didn't hang
around, as I've heard some local people get annoyed by people taking
photos."
針對那一帶的房子，他後來補充:
"In central London, most residential properties are built right up to the
road with no greenery at the front. However, those areas I walked
through have garden squares in the middle of the road. They are like
private parks that are shared between the homes in the area. I think
in 'Notting Hill' they climb the fence to sit in one of that type of
private park.
I expect there are other streets in London where very rich people have
homes with a high wall around a garden. Freddie Mercury's house is
called 'Garden Lodge' so it was built as a house in its own private
garden. It's the only house in that area that is like that. Most of
the buildings in the street look like they are apartments now."
所以你們知道Freddie Mercury倫敦故居被稱作"Garden Lodge"的原因了吧?

順帶一提韓德爾的倫敦故居之前整修完畢，前一陣子開始也開放給民眾參觀了。
韓德爾的倫敦故居，之前英國搖滾歌手Jimi Hendrix也曾居住過。
韓德爾的音樂那麼悅耳，跟Jimi Hendrix音樂風格差很多耶!
不知道韓德爾地下有知，感受如何XD

我是這兩年才認識皇后的，然後Bohemian Rhapsody這首歌， 在問世那麼多年後，還是能給我帶來震撼!
我也是因為我英國朋友跟我提到他觀看這部電影， 我才終於注意到這部電影跟皇后樂團。 我個人比較喜歡Pressure這首歌曲。 話說，我昨天才知道原來"蒙古人"這個詞在英國其實帶著負面的意味。 在1980年代，英國人稱別人白癡，竟然直接說"You Mongol!" 但我不知道現在的英國小孩會不會還會說那麼歧視性的詞語。 這真是令人想搖頭啊! 教育失敗。
皇后樂團的吉他手居然是天體物理學的博士，太強大了~~~
我上網查，天體物理學又稱天文物理學。 如果媒體用"天文學"這個詞，我會比較好理解^^" 其實英國早年教育是免費的。 我上網查: "Until 1998, full-time students in England could attend public universities completely free of charge. Two decades later, most public universities in England now charge £9,250 – equivalent to about $11,380, or 18% more than the average sticker price of a US public four-year institution." 搞不好有些英國人可能就是想著，反正學費免費，不念白不念，就繼續念下去。 另外在蘇格蘭，蘇格蘭本地人跟歐洲本土的學生還是免費。 (EU學生必須是2020/2021年入學者或更早) "Scottish students and students from the EU (who started in or before the 2020/21 academic year) can study for free in Scotland – the government picks up the tab for tuition fees. However, students from the rest of the UK will be charged up to £9,250 for tuition fees in Scotland." 但是英國蘇格蘭以外地區的人去念蘇格蘭的學校就是要付學費。 很妙... 可是蘇格蘭真的很討厭英格蘭就是。 有點像台灣跟中國大陸的某種關係， 大陸很愛稱台灣是中國大陸的一部份，但我們去到中國大陸還是需要台胞證。呵呵。 有些人之所以一直往上念，是因為他們反正也還不知道自己未來想幹嘛， 求學是一條比較好對外說明的理由。 而且一邊往上精進，一邊可以思考自己想要幹嘛。 總之，就是不要讓自己的年輕歲月白過。 我覺得這也不錯啊! 總比「花很多時間找工作，但找到的工作都不怎樣，然後越換越爛」這種來得好。 我真的曾看過有人原本拿著一副好牌(留學英語系國家碩士)， 回台原本在很光鮮亮麗的職場工作幾年， 後來離職後，工作越換越爛， 最後到50歲左右，只能找臨時工。 看到那種履歷表，我覺得很恐怖。

謝謝你的留言。 看到最近摩洛哥地震， 突然覺得英國很幸運， 因為英國似乎很少有大地震， 古蹟得以維護。 儘管這幾年國外有些聲浪， 希望討回放在大英博物館的古物。 尤其中國網紅飾演的《逃出大英博物館》， 引發更多中國人更想索討放在大英博物館的文物。 但我覺得如果是中國的古文物， 還是留在大英博物館好了。 不然中國人，前陣子為了抄捷徑，竟然毀了部份的長城... 真是令人傻眼。 話說，你的部落格很有意思~ 古蹟系列，我格外喜歡。:) 都是芳苑的人事物，要持續寫喔!

這樣的紀錄確實很意義。 儘管可能讀者群為小眾市場， 但相信這些文字內容， 可以讓他們對故鄉更為了解。 這讓我想起大學時社會學老師交辦的作業: 請我們回家問祖父跟父親的經歷。 老師當時其實是想透過我們第一手實錄了解二二八事件發生時， 我們家族經歷了什麼。 我猜我爺爺因為工作關係以及個人經歷， 即使那時候爺爺都將近80歲，他似乎依然有陰影， 所以他輕描淡寫、避重就輕帶過。 爺爺口述的那一段二二八歷史， 我寫下來的內容，被我老師圈起來，打問號。 畢業多年，爺爺現在也不在人世間， 但是總是很感謝老師指定的作業， 讓我很難得有機會了解爺爺的生平事蹟， 還有間接從爺爺口中知道我未曾謀面過的曾曾祖父、曾祖父的故事。
