之前講過penis, dick, cock等英文單字，這次講講penis其他相關詞彙 - erection (勃起)。
我就想到一些勃起相關的單字、故事。
首先最有名的莫過於小布希曾經把election(選舉)講成erection(勃起)。
我終於在網路上找到這篇 "President George W. Bush And Political Bloopers"。
有人甚至好心打上文字:
"Bush says, 'I'm also looking forward to the Iraqi elections on January the 30th.
This is an extraordinary year when you think about it... in the first month of the new year,
there will be an election in the Palestinian territory and there will be an election in Iraq.
Who could of possibly an erection...election....in Iraq at this point in history."
既然講到erection (勃起)，順便提另一個單字 - boner。
但是上網查，我看到 "mainly US offensive"。
當然，我不可能問美國人boner這個字在美式英語真的會冒犯他人嗎?
講完erection/boner，也順便提提morning glory (晨勃)。
之前我查 "晨勃"的英文，曾看到有人竟然會用chubby來形容，
也有另一個詞morning wood來指晨勃，於是向外國朋友求證。
他這麼說: "I have never heard the expressions 'chubby' or 'morning wood'.
I guess they are used because the penis becomes fat or hard like a stick.
I know the expression 'morning glory'. Those two with 'morning' are
specifically when a man wakes up with an erection.
A film about a breakfast TV station with Harrison Ford is also called
'Morning Glory', which is presumably supposed to be a double entendre."
上網查，"Morning Glory"是2010年美國喜劇電影。
但我連這部電影是否曾在台上映過，都沒印象。
只是說真的，英語為母語的人，怎麼會想到把morning glory來形容晨勃呢?
這種事情應該不過是一般男性正常生理現象，有什麼值得覺得光榮的?
