這次講的單字是callisthenics，我也提到calisthenics。
callisthenics跟calisthenics是同樣的，只是拼法不同。
前者是英式拼法(兩個l)，後者是美式拼法。
我之前在YouTube看到有人練callisthenics，於是上網查，才知道是「健美操」的意思。
後來我也跟英國朋友提這單字。
他這麼跟我說: "I hadn't heard the word 'calisthenics' before and
didn't know what it meant. I had to look it up.
Alex Cowling sounds like he is British. It just says he is from London.
I don't think he speaks that clearly in his videos.
(Apparently, the British spelling should have two 'l's in it.)"
很久以前就很想知道「想太多」英文怎麼說。
前陣子總算學到了，所以趕快筆記下來。
範例: "Maybe I read too much into it." (可能我想太多了吧。)
如果叫人別想太多，可以說: "Don't read too much into it."
上網查read too much into it，Google解釋:
"When someone says 'you are reading too much into this,'
it means that you are interpreting the situation or text more deeply
or in a more complex way than is necessary.
This could be because you are trying to find something that isn't there,
or because you are trying to make a connection between two unrelated things."
很久以前，當英國電影《舞動人生》(Billy Elliot)問世的時候，
就聽說電影《舞動人生》(Billy Elliot)是根據真人真事改編。
但是我上網怎麼查，都查不到Billy Elliot本尊。
今年年中，無意中讓我發現，原來Billy Elliot係根據Sir Thomas Allen的故事改編而成。
根據網路資訊，Sir Thomas Allen出生於1944年。
在那個年代，傳統社會基本上不會鼓勵男性學習或從事女性的工作。
那年代，編織、唱歌，在老一輩眼裡都是女生在做的事情。
偏偏Sir Thomas Allen很愛唱歌。
他念中學時，一位物理老師發現他的天賦，
鼓勵他繼續鑽研歌唱，提高自己的歌唱藝術境界。
前幾天，外國朋友跟我提到他看了電影 "The Remains of The Day"《長日將盡》。
這是根據日裔英籍作家石黑一雄(Kazuo Ishiguro)著作翻拍而成的。
我沒看過"The Remains of The Day"《長日將盡》原著或電影，
所以就無法評論這部小說/電影。
但很久以前因為電影 "Never Let Me Go"「別讓我走」，儘管我也沒看過我對石黑一雄(Kazuo Ishiguro)略有所聞。
根據維基百科，石黑一雄(Kazuo Ishiguro)1989年憑作品《長日將盡》獲得布克獎；
2017年，石黑一雄(Kazuo Ishiguro)獲得諾貝爾文學獎。(同為日本人的春上村樹不知做何感想XD)
石黑一雄(Kazuo Ishiguro)出生於日本長崎，但他5歲隨父母去到英國定居，
直到1983年他都29歲了才入籍英國，且他也是1980年過後才回到日本。
之前外國朋友教我一個英文單字 - mellifluous。
我就馬上上網查 "mellifluous"到底是什麼意思、聽起來又是如何。
於是在Google查到這個解釋:
"A mellifluous voice or piece of music is smooth and gentle and very pleasant to listen to. [formal]
I grew up around people who had wonderful, mellifluous voices.
Soon the room is filled with Bates' mellifluous tones.
Synonyms: sweet, soft, smooth, honeyed More Synonyms of mellifluous."
但我還是很納悶: 究竟mellifluous的聲音，聽起來如何?
於是我上YouTube搜尋，看到這則影片，但這種短影片會不間斷重複播放，很煩，你們可能需要自己按暫停。
昨天我提到那些年我喜歡的電影插曲leitmotif。
有熱心部落格格友跟我分享他喜歡的日本動漫插曲。
他說Lovely Complex的女主角小泉理沙出現的時候，就會播放這首曲子。
這首曲子就是Risa (理沙)，此版本是管弦樂版。
Lovely Complex - Risa (理沙)的音樂前奏讓我想起日本歌手Misia的"Everything"，
但後來旋律很快就改變，又不像Misia的"Everything"。
聽查Lovely Complex旋律，確實也讓我想起十多年前的某日劇配樂，但突然間，
我又想不起歌名。
本來這篇文章標題，原本我想定成「那些年我喜歡的leitmotif」，畢竟上一篇係針對何謂leitmotif。
根據我自己對leitmotif的定義，就是當電影某角色/特定場景出現時，隨之就會有其對應的配樂，那就是leitmotif。
按照英文解釋，聽到leitmotif，就知道重點來了。
既然講到電影中為電影角色或場景量身打造的配樂leitmotif，
我就乾脆提一下自己所愛的電影插曲。
首先，我要介紹的莫過於2005年的電影《傲慢與偏見》當中的配樂
聽說電影《傲慢與偏見》女主角Elizabeth Bennet (Keira Knightley飾演)出現，
就會播出為她量身打造的主旋律:
第一次學到leitmotif這單字，循例又是從外國朋友那邊學來的。
Leitmotif這個英文單字，根據Google上的翻譯，是指:
「主導動機指一個貫穿整部音樂作品的動機。動機是音樂語匯的短小構成，通常的長度在一到兩個小節。」
坦白說我覺得這句話有點讓人有看沒懂，很難望文生義。
如果是英文，上網查其定義，是指:
"A phrase or other feature that is repeated often in a work of art, literature, or music and that tells you something important about it."
按照我解讀的定義，就是:
當電影角色或場景出現的時候，其特定配樂也會隨之出現，那種為電影角色/場景量身打造的配樂，就是leitmotif。
當然，我的解讀可能有所誤會，哈哈哈。
之前提到皇后樂團Freddie Mercury曾想過要將《波希米亞狂想曲》(Bohemian Rhapsody)命名成《蒙古狂想曲》(Mongolia Rhapsody)，
但他後來還是用波希米亞/Bohemian。
我英國朋友跟我說: "I think 'Mongolian' has negative connotations in this country."
原來蒙古在他們眼中是比較原始的國家 (英國人就是狗眼看人低)。
他後來也跟我說，在英國，"mongol"這個字對蒙古人還有智能障礙者根本就是歧視。
所以他現在在英國不會聽到有人叫別人mongol。不過他不確定英國小孩在學校還會不會這樣講就是了。
他另外也跟我提另一個英文單字，也是很不禮貌、會冒犯他人的單字，
那就是 "spastic"跟"spaz"。
英國小孩覺得腦性麻痺者就是笨，但那只是凸顯孩子們的無知。
之前我外國朋友教我什麼是white elephant。
他一開始是跟我說他爸買了一台樂器，但從不彈這樂器。
他說，在英文裡面，很貴又不實用的東西，就是white elephant。
他是這樣描述的:
"I don't really understand why my dad wants to have an electric piano.
He just likes buying new toys, I think. He already has his keyboard
connected to the computer, where he writes his music. He never plays
the piano downstairs. The electric piano is supposed to be exactly the
same as playing a traditional piano, so I don't see why he should play
it more. Do you remember when he bought an electric organ and put it
